His pictures and books, which are characterised by a poetic quality and whose strict syntax of formal elements is convincing, breathe an \"invitation to follow one's curiosity and thirst for adventure, to set off into the unknown\", as Gabriele Wix, the editor of the catalogue raisonn\u00e9, writes. Each of J\u00fcrgen Partenheimer's books requires reflection on the way in which they are produced and their connection with the meanings and emotions of their content. They stand for much of what distinguishes these highly esteemed artists' books: the intrinsic media status as a work of art, the enormous aesthetic and qualitative awareness with which the artist accompanies all steps of production, and the open, associative dialogue between image and text that forms the specific \"space\" of the book.
