A principios de la d\u00e9cada de 1980 se impuso una pluralidad de perspectivas del posmodernismo, que por un lado ya no encontraba un consenso de gustos, como se\u00f1al\u00f3 Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Lyotard, pero por otro ofrec\u00eda una creciente diversidad de estilos y formas de vida. Monika Brandmeier comenz\u00f3 su labor art\u00edstica bajo estos auspicios, desmarc\u00e1ndose de sus j\u00f3venes y salvajes contempor\u00e1neos con tonos extra\u00f1amente enigm\u00e1ticos y sensibles. Trabaja con el lenguaje como fuente de inspiraci\u00f3n y medio de expresi\u00f3n y llega a un lenguaje formal principalmente geom\u00e9trico, que siempre intenta cargar sem\u00e1nticamente m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la pura materialidad. \"Ella\", escribe Christian Ganzenberg en su contribuci\u00f3n al texto, \"que en lugar de centrarse en la inmersi\u00f3n f\u00edsica y emocional conf\u00eda en la distancia intelectual y f\u00edsica del espectador con respecto a la obra de arte, descubre en la intersecci\u00f3n de la abstracci\u00f3n y la concreci\u00f3n el punto de partida personal para perseguir tendencias reduccionistas y surrealistas, as\u00ed como un examen sensual-intelectual del espacio y el lenguaje. Sus obras se despliegan m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del rigor y la calculada sobriedad de una pr\u00e1ctica art\u00edstica racional; siempre est\u00e1n impregnadas de un sutil humor, como tambi\u00e9n encontramos en los textos maquinales de Francis Picabia, los experimentos ling\u00fc\u00edstico-tipogr\u00e1ficos de Gertrude Stein o Friederike Mayr\u00f6cker y tambi\u00e9n en los poemas de Rolf-Dieter Brinkmann\".<\/p>\n
