David Czupryn (*1983) estudi\u00f3 con Georg Herold, Lucy McKenzie y Tomma Abts en D\u00fcsseldorf. Es un maestro del efecto trompe-l'\u0153il, el arte secular de enga\u00f1ar al ojo, que celebra un inesperado retorno en su obra. Con pincel y color, reproduce mim\u00e9ticamente las superficies, negando provocativamente la escritura y el gesto. Los cuadros -David Czupryn trabaja con fuertes contrastes arm\u00f3nicos y aplica la pintura de forma transl\u00facida- parecen fundidos a partir de un molde \u00fanico; no son fotorrealistas, sino ilusoriamente tridimensionales. A los fondos tranquilos, las superficies en pie y los motivos de movimiento se a\u00f1aden flechas y otros elementos gr\u00e1ficos. Adem\u00e1s de los miembros que se extienden, llaman la atenci\u00f3n las simetr\u00edas rotas, los elementos que caen, flotan, se conectan, se entrelazan, se abren y se transparentan: cuadros dentro de un cuadro, por as\u00ed decirlo, pero tambi\u00e9n piezas escenogr\u00e1ficas que juegan entre s\u00ed. No es de extra\u00f1ar que el pintor aprecie a los surrealistas, pero tambi\u00e9n que muestre cierta predilecci\u00f3n por Alfred Kubin. Sin embargo, el enigmatismo que persigue no est\u00e1 en la tradici\u00f3n del Romanticismo Negro, sino que recuerda a Alexander Calder y Naum Gabo, pero por supuesto tambi\u00e9n a la traviesa obra de Georg Herold. Por tanto, los cuadros de David Czupryn pueden entenderse sin vacilaci\u00f3n como instalaciones pintadas en las que el constructivismo, la cin\u00e9tica y el surrealismo celebran sus or\u00edgenes ir\u00f3nicos. O dicho de otro modo: Calder, Dal\u00ed y Herold comparten aqu\u00ed la aplicaci\u00f3n.A<\/p>\n
