Austin Eddy formula contradicciones en su obra pict\u00f3rica, inspir\u00e1ndose en las tradiciones cubistas y buscando un equilibrio entre figuraci\u00f3n y abstracci\u00f3n. Sus elementos figurativos se pliegan en paisajes nocturnos, los edificios se convierten en vistas aisladas de espacios aparentemente claustrof\u00f3bicos, las nubes flotantes parecen dedos bulbosos... y todos ellos son a la vez retratos, bodegones y paisajes. La obra de Austin Eddy remite formal y conceptualmente al modernismo americano, pero nadie describe lo que tiene de especial mejor que el propio artista: \"Creo que los cuadros intentan constantemente encontrar un camino entre la realidad y la abstracci\u00f3n. Me interesa explorar los l\u00edmites de hasta d\u00f3nde se puede estirar la conversaci\u00f3n entre ambas\". Los cuadros se basan en narraciones de la vida real, pero no est\u00e1n necesariamente ligados a la representaci\u00f3n de la realidad. Para vincularlos a la tierra, intento utilizar el tiempo. La luz desempe\u00f1a un papel crucial para entender c\u00f3mo funcionan estas im\u00e1genes. No s\u00f3lo en cuanto a la hora del d\u00eda, sino tambi\u00e9n en cuanto a la posible duraci\u00f3n de un acontecimiento. Intentar capturar una tarde en un momento - o la prisa de volar en la quietud de una imagen - me resulta especialmente atractivo. Como quer\u00eda simplificar el lenguaje visual, me parece importante que se remitan al mundo natural a trav\u00e9s del color de la hora correspondiente\".<\/p>\n
