Arno Fischer (1927-2011) ocupa un lugar importante en la fotograf\u00eda alemana del siglo XX. A lo largo de su carrera, trabaj\u00f3 en una gran variedad de g\u00e9neros fotogr\u00e1ficos: mostr\u00f3 la moda en las calles de las ciudades de Europa del Este, pero tambi\u00e9n fotografi\u00f3 a ciudadanos corrientes del Bloque del Este y su vida cotidiana. Sus viajes le llevaron a Guinea Ecuatorial, India, la Uni\u00f3n Sovi\u00e9tica y Estados Unidos, donde, naturalmente, siempre llevaba consigo su c\u00e1mara. Cuando no estaba recorriendo las calles con ella, era un miembro activo de DIREKT, un grupo de fot\u00f3grafos -fundado en Berl\u00edn Oriental en 1965- que contribuy\u00f3 significativamente a la diferenciaci\u00f3n de la cultura visual de Alemania Oriental en las d\u00e9cadas de 1970 y 1980. Arno Fischer y su esposa, la fot\u00f3grafa Sibylle Bergemann, tambi\u00e9n cultivaron contactos con la escena fotogr\u00e1fica internacional. Robert Frank, Henri Cartier-Bresson y Ren\u00e9 Burri siempre estaban encantados de hacer una visita rel\u00e1mpago a su piso de Schiffbauerdamm. Arno Fischer fue tambi\u00e9n un apasionado profesor, primero en la Academia de Artes Visuales de Leipzig y despu\u00e9s, tras la ca\u00edda del Muro, en la Ostkreuzschule f\u00fcr Fotografie und Gestaltung de Berl\u00edn, donde entabl\u00f3 un intenso di\u00e1logo con los estudiantes.<\/p>\n
