A principios de la d\u00e9cada de 1990, la fotograf\u00eda comenz\u00f3 a establecerse t\u00edmidamente como material en el arte y en el mercado del arte, pero a\u00fan estaba lejos de convertirse en un g\u00e9nero art\u00edstico por derecho propio. En la actualidad, es una de las formas de partida m\u00e1s diversas en el di\u00e1logo art\u00edstico. Al mismo tiempo, en el cenit de su auge, se plantea la cuesti\u00f3n de hasta cu\u00e1ndo seguir\u00e1 utiliz\u00e1ndose la fotograf\u00eda como proceso (independiente) en el arte. La digitalizaci\u00f3n ha sustituido casi por completo a las t\u00e9cnicas anal\u00f3gicas. Y con los cambios fundamentales en los planteamientos t\u00e9cnicos, tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 cambiando la forma de tratar la fotograf\u00eda. Adem\u00e1s del texto de Christina Leber sobre la historia de la Colecci\u00f3n de Arte DZ BANK con motivo de su 25 aniversario, este volumen profusamente ilustrado contiene cinco ensayos que examinan y reclasifican la relaci\u00f3n entre la fotograf\u00eda y otros g\u00e9neros art\u00edsticos: la pintura, el dibujo y la escultura, la imagen en movimiento y el arte conceptual.
