Pia Fries (*1955) utiliza el color directamente sobre sus lienzos, ya sea como masa densa o como trazo fluido, jugando con texturas, texturas y formas repetitivas. Al igual que otros colegas suyos de la pintura contempor\u00e1nea, hace un uso virtuoso de las posibilidades de la reproducci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica. Para esta serie de obras, ha utilizado tres ejemplares del libro ilustrado \"Chinesische Bambuspapierherstellung. Un libro ilustrado del siglo XVIII\", elimin\u00f3 las aportaciones de texto y \"liber\u00f3 las l\u00e1minas individuales en color para que fueran independientes\", como ella misma escribe. \"Luego me apropi\u00e9 de estos paneles de im\u00e1genes independientes, los redise\u00f1\u00e9 con colores y estampados, y finalmente se convirtieron en algo nuevo\".
