En sus nuevos cuadros, Nick Goss parece apuntar al modo de la memoria: c\u00f3mo contiene inevitablemente m\u00e1s de un lugar y m\u00e1s de una l\u00f3gica en un momento dado. Por otra parte, es f\u00e1cil reconocer en la obra de Nick Goss la l\u00f3gica del collage modernista o la compulsi\u00f3n cubista de cortar las cosas. En su cuadro \"Last of England\", un grupo de personas est\u00e1n encajadas en el lienzo de una manera que recuerda a la Rep\u00fablica de Weimar, como si las mir\u00e1ramos en un espejo agrietado: un bolso, una bufanda, algo que se lleva bajo el brazo son partes del mismo plano. Si se miran durante m\u00e1s tiempo, el efecto no es de alienaci\u00f3n o desorientaci\u00f3n, como en los montajes surrealistas de H\u00f6ch o los fr\u00e1giles paisajes callejeros de Kirchner. Veo a las personas de los nuevos cuadros de Nick Goss m\u00e1s bien como extra\u00f1os en los que alguien cree en silencio, dotados de dignidad. La fragmentaci\u00f3n de estas obras podr\u00eda entenderse mejor como una especie de muestreo, como en la m\u00fasica. Hay humor en este distanciamiento, como lo hay en los cuadros de Goss, y hay mucho m\u00e1s escondido detr\u00e1s de lo que vemos, por plano o podrido o f\u00fatil que parezca. Era divertido en Bowling Alley, hasta que dej\u00f3 de serlo... \u00bfo no?<\/p>\n
