Con su grupo de obras de aluminio, Olaf Metzel no s\u00f3lo ha reintroducido de forma sorprendente y segura el tema del relieve en los debates actuales, sino que tambi\u00e9n enlaza conscientemente con sus propias obras anteriores, en las que ya hab\u00eda esbozado este particular g\u00e9nero hist\u00f3rico-art\u00edstico. El presente volumen traza este arco de forma muy v\u00edvida, sobre todo gracias a los materiales y textos del artista que se han impreso por primera vez. Comienza con la conocida obra \"T\u00fcrkenwohnung Abstand 12.000,- DM VB\", en la que el artista anunciaba el alquiler de un piso en Berl\u00edn en 1982, en el que \u00e9l mismo hab\u00eda \"hackeado las paredes\" previamente y dejado una esv\u00e1stica en la habitaci\u00f3n central. La escultura de 1984 apoyada en la pared del W\u00fcrttembergischer Kunstverein de Stuttgart, una corona de luto de hormig\u00f3n con las palabras Stammheim pintadas burdamente encima, tambi\u00e9n es inolvidable y a\u00fan hoy causa indignaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica. Por \u00faltimo, las \u00faltimas obras de aluminio de Olaf Metzel tambi\u00e9n nos muestran algo as\u00ed como el desahogo social de la realidad americana.<\/p>\n
