Dana Schutz ha pintado una nueva serie de cuadros en 2021, que se expusieron en el CFA de Berl\u00edn a finales de a\u00f1o bajo el t\u00edtulo \"El jardinero\". Tras el agotado folleto \"Waiting for the Barbarians\", en el que aparec\u00eda el controvertido cuadro \"Open Casket\", que provoc\u00f3 airadas protestas activistas durante la Bienal de Whitney de 2017, la artista muestra ahora un nuevo estilo de pintura modificado. En la actualidad, exagera la expresividad de sus lienzos utilizando un fuerte contorno negro. Mientras que el contenido destructivo de sus cuadros de 2016 asustaba de una forma casi est\u00e9ril, porque aplicaba su paleta de colores de una forma extra\u00f1amente amable y casi \"soleada\" ante situaciones tem\u00e1ticamente desastrosas, los nuevos lienzos, as\u00ed como una serie de esculturas, aparecen duros y amenazantes. Dana \u017daja lo describe as\u00ed en el texto de acompa\u00f1amiento, que merece la pena leer: \"En el cosmos pict\u00f3rico de Schutz, hay algo oscuro que subyace a las actividades m\u00e1s profanas, tambi\u00e9n porque toda forma de trabajo parece un acto desafiante contra el mundo desolado. Adaptaci\u00f3n y resistencia van de la mano\".<\/p>\n
