La obra de Peter Zimmermann es variada. A finales de la d\u00e9cada de 1980, dominaron las denominadas pinturas de cubiertas de libros: el artista de Colonia pint\u00f3 t\u00edtulos de atlas, libros de arte, gu\u00edas de viaje y diccionarios con epoxi sobre lienzo. Luego, en sus objetos de cart\u00f3n, trabaj\u00f3 con distorsiones espaciales de texto e imagen, tematizando los bucles y sus interacciones. A esto le sigui\u00f3 la exitosa serie de lienzos coloridos y brillantes con pintura de formas abstractas puras, en los que el artista primero alienaba plantillas digitales, fotos, fotogramas de pel\u00edculas o diagramas mediante algoritmos gr\u00e1ficos y luego los aplicaba en numerosas capas transparentes de resina epoxi. Desde 2014, fiel a este enfoque, Peter Zimmermann ha vuelto cada vez m\u00e1s a la pintura al \u00f3leo y ha creado mares ondulantes llenos de tent\u00e1culos ba\u00f1ados en colores vibrantes. Para el nuevo volumen 2023 de Kienbaum Artists' Books titulado \"swipe\", el artista ha rebuscado ahora en su colecci\u00f3n y ha condensado tanto sus fuentes como sus obras en un popurr\u00ed salvaje.
