Apr\u00e8s la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le white cube a acquis le statut de convention esth\u00e9tique. L'atelier de Dagmar Varady, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re impressionnante dans le livre, donne en revanche l'impression de se trouver \u00e0 la fois dans un lieu o\u00f9 l'art est produit et dans un \"espace d'exposition\". Ses travaux ne sont pas \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer comme des \u0153uvres ou des tableaux achev\u00e9s, mais sont \"en mouvement permanent\", comme le souligne l'artiste. C'est ainsi que na\u00eet en studio un ordre personnel (de connaissances) dans le contexte de l'art, quelque chose comme \"des principes dans le chaos\", o\u00f9 le hasard contr\u00f4l\u00e9 (s\u00e9rendipit\u00e9) entre \u00e9galement en jeu, comme on peut bien l'observer dans les structures, les plis et les d\u00e9grad\u00e9s de sa s\u00e9rie de tableaux \"Brilliant-Blue\". Avec toutes les ruptures, les \u00e9carts, les intuitions, les exceptions et les ambigu\u00eft\u00e9s qui apparaissent dans son art, Dagmar Varady s'est engag\u00e9e sur la \"voie de l'absence d'intention\" (Ernst Bloch) - une absence d'intention qui favorise le caract\u00e8re processuel de l'art, qui ne pourrait \u00e0 son tour pas voir le jour sans un lieu de production p\u00e9renne, l'atelier. Et c'est ainsi que des motifs s'y prom\u00e8nent d'image en image dans un processus de production ind\u00e9termin\u00e9, dialoguent entre eux et se transforment de mani\u00e8re prot\u00e9iforme en de nouvelles variantes. Dans cette mesure, l'atelier de Dagmar Varady n'est pas simplement un lieu de travail, mais, comme l'artiste le dit elle-m\u00eame, son \"nombril vers le monde\" et, en tant que tel, une sorte de laboratoire dans lequel les processus intrins\u00e8ques d\u00e9terminent en grande partie l'attitude et le programme artistiques.<\/p>\n
