Ses \"spraypaintings\" et \"bars\" suivent enti\u00e8rement le diktat minimaliste d'une spatialisation de la couleur et d'un \u00e9largissement de l'espace pictural. Alors que Dan Flavin et Donald Judd ont choisi la voie oppos\u00e9e, \u00e0 savoir le renoncement total \u00e0 la peinture, Michael Venezia s'est enti\u00e8rement consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la peinture. Son \u0153uvre met en \u00e9vidence les particularit\u00e9s d'une pr\u00e9sence esth\u00e9tique que seule la peinture peut d\u00e9velopper : la texture, l'application de la couleur et la processualit\u00e9.
