Marianne Vitale (*1973 East Rockaway, USA) pr\u00e9sente des sculptures en acier de la taille d'un homme, dont l'origine ferroviaire est \u00e9vidente, associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des installations qui occupent tout l'espace, comme un bar en bois du Far West, dont le socle porte encore les traces d'utilisation des visiteurs. \u00c0 l'arri\u00e8re du bar, sur fond noir, sont dispos\u00e9s des masques en pl\u00e2tre bizarres, dont la forme est formul\u00e9e entre l'horreur et le rire. Son troisi\u00e8me groupe d'\u0153uvres est consacr\u00e9 aux surfaces, comme les vieux toits goudronn\u00e9s rapi\u00e9c\u00e9s, qu'elle appelle Roof ou Shingle Paintings. Cette \u0153uvre souterraine met une nouvelle fois en lumi\u00e8re le grand r\u00e9cit am\u00e9ricain et son \u00e9chec.
