L'\u0153uvre de l'artiste suisse R\u00e9my Zaugg (1943-2005) a toujours impressionn\u00e9 par son approche indisciplinaire et ses fondements th\u00e9oriques dans la pratique artistique, la peinture \u00e9tant toujours rest\u00e9e pour Zaugg le pivot et la charni\u00e8re. Sa position artistique est toujours aussi unique parce qu'il a d'abord pos\u00e9 la question existentielle de la perception. Sans la perception de l'artiste et du spectateur, et sans une confrontation permanente avec ses conditions toujours nouvelles, il n'y a pas d'\u0153uvre artistique. Celle-ci ne peut \u00eatre qu'orient\u00e9e vers le processus et se livrer aux ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes, elle ne peut donc pas \u00eatre r\u00e9duite \u00e0 l'objet. C'est pourquoi R\u00e9my Zaugg a toujours consid\u00e9r\u00e9 la peinture (depuis les ann\u00e9es 1960) comme une sorte de recherche fondamentale pour les projets appliqu\u00e9s, qu'il s'agisse d'architecture ou d'urbanisme. Ses textes sur l'architecture des mus\u00e9es et des expositions (datant des ann\u00e9es 1980 et 1990) peuvent \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des textes cl\u00e9s de la r\u00e9flexion artistique, dans lesquels des connaissances \u00e9tonnamment simples sont formul\u00e9es avec une rh\u00e9torique suggestive.
\nLe volume r\u00e9trospectif pr\u00e9vu para\u00eet \u00e0 l'occasion du dixi\u00e8me anniversaire de la mort de l'artiste, dont l'\u0153uvre plastique ne fait l'objet d'aucune publication r\u00e9cente dans le commerce. En outre, ce livre contient un petit \u00e9chantillon de l'\u0153uvre essayiste inhabituelle de l'artiste.<\/p>\n
