Avec sa peinture, Petra Frey \u00e9volue dans des mondes interm\u00e9diaires, entre r\u00e9alit\u00e9 et illusion, figuration et abstraction. Le verre est son objet, le mat\u00e9riau de base de sa peinture, auquel elle se consacre syst\u00e9matiquement depuis des ann\u00e9es. Le verre est multiple, visqueux et cristallin, fragile et r\u00e9sistant, froid et dur, il semble l\u00e9ger et peut pourtant devenir lourd comme la pierre. En m\u00eame temps, le mat\u00e9riau invite \u00e0 des charges m\u00e9taphoriques et spirituelles. Ce n'est pas le cas de Petra Frey, qui est pass\u00e9e de la repr\u00e9sentation de parties fragment\u00e9es \u00e0 des r\u00e9fractions, des vues individuelles et des repr\u00e9sentations globales. Elle privil\u00e9gie un jeu libre de reflets et de r\u00e9flexions qui se dissolvent dans l'espace. Ses repr\u00e9sentations \u00e9mergent d'un fond g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement sombre, qui lui permet de jouer avec les reflets et la transparence, jusqu'\u00e0 des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes lumineux inhabituels. En lib\u00e9rant ainsi la lumi\u00e8re, Petra Frey d\u00e9mat\u00e9rialise en quelque sorte les objets en verre qu'elle repr\u00e9sente, comme si elle lib\u00e9rait le verre de sa mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 pour le transformer en pure lumi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n
