Volume III and Volume IV together!

2023 proved to be a pleasing year for Georg Baselitz, with acclaimed exhibitions worldwide, in particular the show at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, where his works were able to shine in correspondence with excellent and famous old masters. We are now presenting in April the long-awaited Volume IV of the catalog raisonné of his graphic works, »Peintre-Graveur IV«. The aftermath of the Corona pandemic had repeatedly delayed the completion of the work. Particularly impressive in this volume are the variants of the woodcut »32 Punkte« from 1991 (no. 861), with full-page illustrations of the complete series.
The now available Volumes III (1983–1989) and IV (1989–1992), with the works on »Malelade« (nos. 584–717 from 1989), the large-format series »32 Punkte« from 1991 (no. 861 in 6 states with 17 print variants), the small series »Winter« (1992), accompanied by a poem by Joseph Brodsky, as well as studies and final works on the »Große Bertelsmann Lexikothek« (nos. 931–999 from 1992), reflect an extraordinarily productive decade for the artist.
