"The world is not enough"!

Florin Kompatscher brings together ten years of drawings of branches, tree stumps, flowers, divas, flagellants, found objects, gnomes, hats, giants, walking sticks, dwarves, etc.: "The world is not enough"! These works are characterised above all by the intertwining of spontaneity and discipline, an enormous concentration, so that the world in which we live disappears, the horror of everyday life solidifies. Or as Veit Loers writes: "Florin Kompatscher describes the idyll, but the marvellous often becomes comical, bizarre and morose, as in Martin Kippenberger, whose grotesque world felt most at home on the delicate white of the hotel paper. Kompatscher lives out the poetic side of the eccentric on his sheets, so to speak."
