What does the artist understand?

Bojan Sarcevic invited curators from various countries to a seminar for which he gave them a topic: "To what extent should an artist actually understand the meaning of his or her results?" The question posed by Bojan Sarcevic, who now lives in Berlin, was born in Bosnia and grew up in Paris, led to an extremely lively and at times exciting and amusing discussion, which is documented in this small volume alongside a brief basic text on the subject by Sebastian Egenhofer. As always, Bojan Sarcevic takes a stand on the subject in his very own way, showing with eight unspectacular small colour photographs of filigree sculptural works that he has long been concerned with painting.
