Stream of Images ☞ Since the 1990s Fabian Marcaccio’s work has been investigating the possibilities open to traditional painting in the digital age. To this end he uses printmaking and transfer techniques for his paintings and has become more widely known through his sculptural treatments of the two-dimensional surface of the canvas. More recently he has refined his painting process with digital and industrial techniques. The results are installations, animations and “Paintants,” which combine digitally processed images, sculptural forms and three-dimensionally painted surfaces. The present book (Kienbaum Artists’ Books 2026) presents the most important drawings and preliminary studies for Fabian Marcaccio’s room-filling works of the past 20 years.
