Guillermo Kuitca in Somerset

In June 2013, Argentinian artist Guillermo Kuitca (b. 1961 in Buenos Aires) created a complete mural for the dining room of his home during a residency at Hauser & Wirth in Somerst. With this mural, Kuitca presented for the first time in his oeuvre a room painting that completely envelops the viewer, which consequently triggered a change in his artistic practice. The new works that followed form the focus of this book, which provides fascinating insights into the relationships between domestic space and architecture. Published jointly with Hauser & Wirth, the volume includes a text by Michael C. FitzGerald, Professor of Fine Arts at Trinity College, Hartford. He has written extensively on Picasso and his legacy in contemporary art and has published numerous catalogues for exhibitions at the Museu Picasso, Barcelona, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Wadsworth Atheneum, among others.
