Propsteikirche St. Trinitatis Leipzig; the consecration of a new church in May 2015 brought to an end the more than 70-year odyssey of the Leipzig provostry parish. With the erection of the new building by the architects Schulz & Schulz, St. Trinitatis returns to the centre of the city: to a prominent site opposite the monumental town hall of 1905. More than 120 carefully selected photographs show the constant change on the building site from 2012 to 2015. In the process the new architecture, in the act of unfolding, frames as a backdrop a selection of portrait series: teenagers celebrating their confirmation, workers who come from all corners of the world, and the artists commissioned to develop works for the building. By integrating a few additional photographs of other projects into the sequence of the series, Joachim Brohm and Valentina Seidel generate a visual narrative that is as surprising as it is complex, taking the viewer far beyond the boundaries of conventional documentation.
