“In the works of Siegfried Anzinger the shaping of form, wrapped in thin paint, is always unreal; it sways and hovers. It is as though one were dreaming the paintings. Around the loosely formed motif the painting is done cautiously, very sensitively, so that one sees how the painter allows himself to be drawn along by the swaying and wavering of the brush as if by a divining rod. That is precisely it, that is precisely what we experience in his paintings: they allow us to dream. I look past the subjects with which they begin; it is the paintings themselves that invite us to do so!” Thus Rudi Fuchs concludes his sensitive text, which accompanies this unadorned volume of pictures.
