The laughter comes all by itself! John Cage keeps Alfred Stieglitz in the attic, Theo Baargeld encounters a Louise Bourgeois turning up her nose, Yves Klein looks up to George Grosz, Gisèle Freund and Georg Ehrlich embrace tenderly, while Julian carries Erwin Wurm in his beak. Milen Till (*1984) has combined more than 100 artists with one another as pairs of words, and Martin Fengel (*1964) has given them faces and poses in his drawings. This wonderful paperback now presents the collaboration of the two Munich artists in collected form for the first time. Yet what comes across as so playful and prompts a smile also holds surprising insights in store. How far do the names of artists carry out into the world? Would they have turned out differently had they not opted for a pseudonym? Is the coming about of one or other of these meetings entirely unthinkable? And would we not be considerably the richer today had it actually taken place?
