Bill Viola (b. 1951 in New York City) is regarded as one of the most important pioneers and exponents of video art. The book is conceived as a reader that allows those interested to discover Viola’s haunting visual oeuvre by way of his own pictorial language. In addition, the texts, set out as a dialogue, offer an insight into the depth of his artistic thinking, which takes shape out of a far-reaching network of influences and ideas.
