For Hans Arp, nature was the measure of all things, the constant change of natural forms and their metamorphoses, or in Arp's words: "We were looking for an elementary art that would heal man from the madness of time." Hans Arp became a pioneer of organic abstraction and, particularly since the 1930s, his biomorphic sculptures have fuelled a debate that continues to this day. The works in this exhibition, all of which are illustrated in the book, not only show the rich collection of Arp works in the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, but also combine them with an overview of important contemporary positions, as they are also collected in the Arp Museum, for example by Angelika Arendt, Bonnie Collura, Tony Cragg, Louise Bourgeois, Jackie Brookner, Jáchym Fleig, Julie Hayward, Bodo Korsig, Gerhard Mantz, Maix Mayer, Wilhelm Mundt, Ernesto Neto, Thomas Rentmeister, Laurent Mignonneau & Christa Sommerer, venske & spänle, Luis Vidal and Birgitta Weimer.
