Counter Culture. 25 Years Sammlung Falckenberg. Objects and Installations

Installations are the starting point

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Falckenberg Collection, the Deichtorhallen Hamburg/Falckenberg Collection is presenting a comprehensive exhibition focussing on the installation and sculptural works in the collection. The exhibition presents around 100 works by over 60 internationally renowned artists, some of which have been on loan to the Centre Pompidou, PS1, the Walker Art Center, the Tate Modern, MoMA New York, MOCA Los Angeles and the Venice and Shanghai Biennales. These works are now being brought together for the first time in a major survey exhibition in Hamburg-Harburg in the Falckenberg Collection. Some of the exhibits are being shown for the first time in Harburg's Phoenix-Hallen. Others, such as Jon Kessler's multimedia installation "The Palace at 4 A.M.", have been extensively restored especially for this exhibition. In addition, the permanent installations by Jonathan Meese, Thomas Hirschhorn and John Bock in the rooms of the collection are an integral part of the show.
