Georg BaselitzPeintre – Graveur V

This fifth volume of the catalogue raisonné of Georg Baselitz’s prints documents an arc reaching from 1993 to the beginning of 1998. In more than 250 works, from the etchings of the series »Gotische Mädchen« through to the sheets in the spirit of reverse glass painting, the German ›peintre-graveur‹ combines surprisingly energetic pictorial representations with a very free art of ornament.
While Volume III contains the works with nos. 438–717 from 1983–1989, including all illustrated versions of »Malelade«, and Volume IV the works with nos. 718a–1010 from 1989–1992, including the impressive large-format series »32 Punkte« of 1991 in full-page illustrations, Volume V now publishes nos. 1011–1267 from 1993–1998 with the series of etchings »Gotische Mädchen«, these too in full-page illustrations.
