In June 2013 the Argentinian artist Guillermo Kuitca (*1961 in Buenos Aires) created a complete mural for the dining room of the residence during a working stay at Hauser & Wirth in Somerset. With this wall work Kuitca presented, for the first time in his work, a painted interior that completely surrounds the viewer, which consequently brought about a change in his artistic practice. The new works produced subsequently form the focus of this book, which offers fascinating insights into the nature of domestic space and architecture. Published jointly with Hauser & Wirth, the volume contains a text by Michael C. FitzGerald, Professor of Fine Arts at Trinity College, Hartford. He has written extensively on Picasso and his legacy in contemporary art and has published numerous catalogues on exhibitions at, among others, the Museu Picasso, Barcelona, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Wadsworth Atheneum.
