John Cage carries Alfred Stieglitz in his upper room, Theo Baargeld meets a nosy Louise Bourgeois, Yves Klein looks up to George Grosz, Gisèle Freund and Georg Ehrlich embrace tenderly, while Julian carries Erwin Wurm in his beak. Milen Till (*1984) has combined over 100 artists as pairs of words, and Martin Fengel (*1964) has given them faces and poses in drawings. This wonderful paperback presents the collaboration between the two Munich artists for the first time. What comes across as so playful and makes you smile also offers surprising insights. How far do the artists' names reach out into the world? Would they have become something else if they hadn't opted for a pseudonym? Is the realisation of one or the other meeting completely unthinkable? And wouldn't we be a lot richer today if it had actually taken place?
