Two real pound guys

Harald Falckenberg and Thomas Olbricht both belong to the German collecting elite and never miss an opportunity to take a very personal stand with their favourite art. Harald Falckenberg has punk on his mind, as he says, and Thomas Olbricht describes himself as a rocker. Both collectors thus unmistakably embody not only a new style, but also want to establish direct communication by collecting art, as the artists they collect also see the value of their work in the pose of exaggeration and provocation; it is sometimes loud and noisy. The enjoyment of art should "jump out", as Thomas Olbricht put it in the "Welt". Now that the Deichtorhallen have been curating the Falckenberg Collection in Hamburg-Harburg since 30 April 2011 as part of a collaboration, the collection is set to host other collections on a regular basis. A big meeting with Jake & Dinos Chapman, Cattelan, Kippenberger, McCarthy, Meese and many more in the Deichtorhallen.
